Self-Compassionate Parenting: 8-week Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy Group

Beginning Monday, September 18th, and meeting for 8 Mondays from 6 pm - 7:30 pm. Group will end before Thanksgiving.

Location: 1433 S 1100 E in Salt Lake City

Members join for the entire 8-week series. Contact me to learn more or to schedule an initial consultation.

Group description: In this structured therapy group you will learn why self-compassion is one of the most helpful practices you can develop for your children, your relationship, and your own peace and happiness. You will engage in mindfulness meditation and various exercises to deepen compassion for yourself and others. Whether your goals are to move past anxiety, perfectionism, or depression, or simply to experience greater happiness and connection, deep transformation comes from integrating these practices into your daily life.

The group balances teaching and experiential exercises with the processing of a more traditional psychotherapy group. This means that members do not spend as much time in conversation; many people who have never attended a therapy group find this more comfortable because there is no pressure to speak in the group. However, members still provide support for each other and gain the comfort of universalizing the struggles of being a parent and being human.

No prior experience with meditation is required. Group fees are $480 for the series.

I cannot tell you how many times I have wished that my friends could attend this group - I seriously think it is such a positive experience that I want everyone I know to be able to enjoy the 8 weeks of learning, growing, accepting and “being” in such a serene setting with wonderful peers while benefitting from Adryon’s vast knowledge and empathetic listening. The group was so wonderful, I experienced a “high” during and after every session.

This course was an incredibly useful (and lovely) experience. Adryon covers several really important foundational concepts in mindfulness that were healing and transformative for me over the 8 weeks. She is a gifted teacher and does an amazing job of explaining the material; she is a warm and compassionate person, responding with patience, humility and kindness. I strongly recommend caring for yourself (and your family) by taking the time to learn and practice awareness and compassion in this group.
